Introducing Dr. Michael Ryan

Dr. Michael Ryan

Dr. Ryan is a 1990 graduate of Haverhill High School, in Haverhill, MA.  From there he went on to Saint Anselm College for two years before transferring to the University of Massachusetts at Boston.  He played for the Men's Tennis Team while at UMASS pursuing his B.S. in Biology/Pre-Med.  He earned his degree in 1995.

Dr. Ryan had always wanted a career in medicine but saw that as more of a "Disease Care" than Health Care. Chiropractic offered an alternative; true "Health Care".  Think of it this way, are headaches caused by a worldwide lack of medicine?  NO!  Medicine will take care of symptoms, but does nothing to combat the cause of problems.  Chiropractic treats the patient rather than the condition, allowing each individual to better deal whatever is going on within them.

So, Dr. Ryan packed up and moved to Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of Chiropractic and the home of Palmer College of Chiropractic.  While at Palmer, Dr. Ryan was quite active on campus.  He was Vice-President of the Pediatric Club.  He worked teaching labs in the Academic Radiology Department.  He was a member of the Palmer Student-Alumni Foundation and the Student Branch of the International Chiropractic Association.  Dr. Ryan was also a member of the Palmer College Mens Hockey Team, a team that made it to the "Elite-8" at the National Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, for  ACHA Division II.
Dr. Ryan also participated in Palmer's Clinic Abroad Program, a program that allows student doctors to travel abroad and service underprivileged people.  His group treated over 2500 patients on two separate islands in Fiji.

After graduation, Dr. Ryan moved back to his home state, became licensed, and worked as an associate doctor in Boston from 1999 – 2005 in a Gonstead Practice.

In May 2005, he opened Ryan Chiropractic in Lynn, MA where he lives with his lovely wife, Dr. Sara Panarello and their two daughters.

Dr. Ryan’s primary area of clinical interest is treating patients who were injured in motor vehicle crashes.  He has even participated in full scale, human occupant motor vehicle crash testing.

Dr. Ryan is a member of the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society and the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society.

Dr. Ryan Asks some important questions of interest to Lynn residents - Chiropractor Lynn Dr. Ryan Asks...

If you have a fever, are you sick or healthy?
Chiropractors love asking this question because it gets to the root of the chiropractic difference. Turns out fevers, vomiting, coughing and even sneezing are all healthy responses. It means your body is working correctly. Taking medications to suppress these natural processes can actually prolong your recovery.
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Lynn office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
