Consultation
Dr. Ryan offers free consultations to all prospective patients. The purpose of our initial consultation is we can get to know each other. A consultation typically lasts between 10 – 15 minutes. It is a no strings attached, free offer. You don’t even have to fill out any paperwork!
The Test Drive
“It’s kind of like taking a car for a test drive.”
The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, interview Dr. Ryan, and learn a bit more about chiropractic. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.
We Listen
During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.
Hidden Injuries and the EMG
Many people decide to try Chiropractic only after everything else fails. Even then, they sometimes have to be forced into a Chiropractic office by a family member! Patients think that because their primary care doctor can’t find anything wrong, their problem must not be that bad. We understand your frustration.
To help with this problem, Dr. Ryan has invested in a sophisticated electrodiagnostic machine called an electromyograph, or EMG. This machine works by measuring the small amounts electrical activity associated with muscle tension. (It’s kind of like an EKG for your back.)
The test itself is quick, easy, and painless. It is totally safe for infants, children, pregnant women, and seniors. (It takes about three minutes) In fact, the only reason Dr. Ryan has it in his practice is because it’s so perfect for doing one job, finding those hidden problems, and validating your complaints. When the test is done, Dr. Ryan will give you a color printout that will show you exactly where he thinks your problem(s) are.
Dr. Ryan offers a complimentary EMG scan to all patients during their initial consultation.
The Next Step
If we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you. If we think we can help, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is an examination. The examination is a more thorough evaluation that will give Dr. Ryan all of the information he needs to properly treat you. Our patients appreciate the fact that we explain everything in advance!
